Terms of Use

Last updated: 2 July 2026 · Version 1.0

1. Who we are

CareRoute is operated by Graham Hampson trading as CareRoute (“CareRoute”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a sole trader with its registered/trading address at 13 Castle Mills, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, HG5 8DE.

You can contact us at any time at support@careroute.co.uk.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and us governing your use of the CareRoute website and app (the “Service”). By creating an account, starting a trial, or subscribing, you confirm you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

2. Who can use CareRoute

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and subscribe. The Service is currently offered to users in the United Kingdom only. By registering you confirm you meet these requirements.

3. What CareRoute is — and is not

CareRoute provides general, indicative information about NHS-style healthcare career pathways: possible routes, the skills, qualifications and pay bands typically involved, and an AI advisor that helps you explore your options.

The Service is for information and guidance only. In particular:

  • Salary bands, timescales, entry requirements and scores are illustrative and may not reflect current official figures. Always verify against official NHS, NMC, HCPC and employer sources before making any decision.
  • Nothing in the Service is official careers, clinical, medical, legal, financial or immigration advice, and it must not be relied on as such.
  • The AI advisor can make mistakes and may produce information that is incomplete or out of date. Treat its suggestions as a starting point for your own research, not as a professional recommendation.
  • We do not guarantee employment, course or programme acceptance, pay, progression, or any particular timeline or outcome.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account, and for the accuracy of the profile information you provide. Tell us promptly at support@careroute.co.uk if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You may delete your account at any time from Account → Data & privacy; deletion is immediate and irreversible (see our Privacy Policy).

5. Free trial

When you start a subscription you may be offered a 14-day free trial. Please read this carefully:

  • A valid payment card is required to start the trial.
  • Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your trial will automatically convert into a paid subscription and we will charge your card the subscription price then in force.
  • The price, billing frequency, and the date and amount of your first charge are shown to you at checkout before you confirm.
  • We will send a reminder by email before your trial ends, but it remains your responsibility to cancel in time if you do not wish to be charged.
  • Only one trial is available per customer. We may withdraw or change trial offers at any time.

You can cancel during the trial at any time from Account → Subscription or via the billing portal, with no charge.

6. Subscription, pricing and auto-renewal

  • The subscription gives you access to CareRoute's paid features for the billing period you select. Prices, features and billing frequency are shown at checkout. All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, and your card will be charged, until you cancel.
  • We will give you reasonable advance notice by email of any change to your subscription price before it takes effect. If you do not accept the new price you may cancel before it applies.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.

7. Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time from Account → Subscription or through the Stripe billing portal. When you cancel:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid period, after which it will not renew and you will not be charged again.
  • We do not provide pro-rata refunds for the unused part of a period except where required by law or under our refund policy below.

8. Your 14-day right to cancel (cooling-off)

Because you buy from us at a distance, you have a legal right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel within 14 days of entering the contract.

Your 14-day free trial runs alongside this 14-day period, and we do not charge you during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends — one tap from Account → Subscription — you are not charged anything, so there is nothing to refund. We do not ask you to give up or waive your cancellation right.

If you do nothing, your subscription begins and your first payment is taken when the trial ends (the date and amount are shown at checkout and in a reminder email 3 days before). Your right to cancel future renewals (clause 7) and your statutory rights if the Service is faulty are unaffected.

9. Refunds

In addition to your statutory rights:

  • If you are charged in error, or the Service is faulty or materially not as described, you are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which may include a refund. Contact support@careroute.co.uk.
  • If your trial converts and you change your mind, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we will give you a full refund of that payment. This is a voluntary policy on top of, and does not affect, your statutory rights.

To request a refund or exercise any cancellation right, email support@careroute.co.uk with your account email; you may also use the model cancellation form available on request.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by: attempting to access it unlawfully; scraping, copying or reselling our content; reverse-engineering the Service; uploading unlawful, harmful or infringing content; or using the AI advisor to generate unlawful content. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

11. Intellectual property

We (and our licensors) own the Service and its content, branding and software. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own career planning while your account is active. Content you generate (e.g. your profile and saved routes) remains yours; you grant us the licence needed to host and process it to provide the Service.

12. Affiliate links

Some “next step” suggestions (for example, training courses) are affiliate links: if you sign up through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We label these as affiliate/advertising where they appear and choose them for relevance, not commission.

13. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may update, suspend or withdraw features. We may change these Terms from time to time; if a change materially affects you we will give reasonable notice by email or in-app. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Our liability to you

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to that, and because the Service is informational and guidance-based:

  • We are not liable for decisions you take based on the Service, including reliance on illustrative figures or AI advisor output; you are responsible for verifying information against official sources.
  • We are not liable for loss that is not a foreseeable result of our breach, or for loss arising from your own breach of these Terms.
  • We do not exclude or limit any rights you have as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other mandatory law.

If we are found liable to you for a matter that can be limited in law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

15. Complaints

If something goes wrong, please contact us first at support@careroute.co.uk and we will try to resolve it. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may be entitled to refer it to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider; we do not currently subscribe to a specific ADR scheme. (The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is not available to UK traders.)

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you where you live.
